The dedicated exhaust serving identifiable hoods and bench equipment is the strong part — it exists for the process, not general ventilation, so it generally follows that function. How is the lab HVAC handled if it's all one system?

By allocation. High air-change or once-through air has a process component that can be arguable and a comfort component that stays 39-year. When it's a single system, an engineer separates the dedicated capacity from the base-building capacity rather than the study claiming the whole thing.

Are the benches and casework worth reclassifying?
